Preston True

Preston is an executive coach and leadership consultant who works with large consumer packaged goods and service organizations as well as small, entrepreneurial companies. Preston’s clients are typically expert service providers in the IT, engineering, legal, accounting and financial services industries, but include non-profit, creative, and marketing organizations as well. Preston coaches executives, managers and entrepreneurs to affect and implement greater performance for themselves and their teams in specific results-focused projects. He helps them create a higher level of consciousness, to lead effectively in a team structure, and inspire innovation to foster creativity and breakthrough performance.

Preston believes that “best practices” are an important component of leadership development, but real leadership performance exists inside transforming language and perspective. His approach is in developing leaders and teams to not only rely on their knowledge, but understand how to leverage their language, commitment, and relationships. He does not help his clients change, but helps them transform by partnering with them to define their Compass (declared future), build necessary Character (leadership stamina), and foster Collaboration (building effective teams) to produce breakthrough results.

Preston brings his experience in sales, marketing, management and training positions within the financial services, commercial printing, and training industries. He has served on the leadership and training teams of successful coach training programs. He has been a board and committee member of several local organizations including the Professional Coaches Association of Michigan, the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, The Children’s Center in Detroit, and currently serves on the Shrine Catholic Schools Unified School Board. Preston holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The College of Wooster, is a Landmark Education graduate and lives with his wife and two children in suburban Detroit.
