Jack Barker, Ph. D.
Brief Overview Bio
Jack Barker, Ph.D. is an Airbus pilot and aviation safety instructor at United Airlines. He develops and teaches Crew Resource Management (CRM) courses to pilots, flight attendants, and ground personnel. Prior to joining United Airlines, Jack spent 17 years on active duty in the United States Air Force. During his military career Jack served as an aircraft maintenance officer, piloted several different aircraft and taught as a professor of psychology at the United States Air Force Academy. As a professor he was involved with NASA sponsored high performance team research and organizational development consulting. He has developed training programs adapting the aviation safety model to organizations that use high performance teams. Jack has extensive experience coaching both individuals and teams. He has a B.S. in human factors engineering from the United State Air Force Academy and a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology (dissertation on team decision making) from Florida State University.
