MegaClips LLC began working with Kenda-Le Pernin of Mark Kamin & Associates in mid-2015. Initially it was for the purpose of creating focus, direction and purpose both within our company and for us (the management team) individually.

Almost immediately, we saw a change in our ability to work efficiently and productively. The next five years was a time of great growth and accomplishment. In fact, MegaClips had set both sales and customer count records in all of our salons during early 2020. Then, COVID hit and things changed completely.

I can truthfully say for myself and in my place as financial officer of our company, if it hadn’t been for Kenda-Le and her constant and encouraging support, we probably wouldn’t be open today.

She helped us maintain focus, creativity, and vision in working through the difficult times. As a result, we have come out even stronger, with a greater commitment to our staff and to those we reach every day. I count on her to me by personal “rock” and “touchstone” when I lose my way and feel overwhelmed, stressed, and unable to deal with everything I face daily.

Her leadership and guidance helped us create a culture within our organization built on integrity and family that will support our future growth and success.

Thank you for all that you have done for myself and MegaClips. We have worked together for the last 2 years and the transformations that have been made are incredible.

We were a company that had very poor communication skills and a lack of integrity with each other and with our salons. Our salons were so divided. And we have become a company that has the leadership to do anything we put our minds to doing.

When we first started working with Mark Kamin & Associates we were a very divided team. Our salons span out over 500 miles of Texas and it was definitely “East” vs “West”.

When you have 13 salons that are not part of a team, things tend to get really unorganized, and it is hard to accomplish anything. Nobody wanted to expand beyond the salons that we had. The fear of that was very real because we did not have the skill set nor the preparedness to accomplish this. We were constantly losing managers and stylists. I felt like we were in a tunnel that was going around in circles with no clear direction in sight.

The work has been really hard at times, and I have wanted to give up and throw in the towel. I didn’t understand why I needed this coaching. What was it possibly going to do for me?

The coaching has made me realize that without integrity nothing works. And, it is difficult at times to bring that integrity back.

Mark Kamin & Associates helped me so much in becoming the leader that I have always wanted to be and could be. I just needed the push and guidance. And, for that, I thank you.

The leadership team that we have at MegaClips is great. We constantly have new agreements and promises made, we can call each other out on things and bring our integrity back.

We still have 13 salons at this time, but we are no longer East vs West. We are MegaClips.

The possibilities that we have are great. Our salons are thriving, while other Great Clips salons are not.

On average our salons are averaging about 400 customers each week. While the DFW market (well over 120 salons) are averaging about 350 customers a week. We have retained stylists and managers and continue to add more staff. We now have three District Managers that ensure our culture statement and integrity are present at all times.

The District Managers and I are ready to take on more salons. That fear of expansion is gone and the future we are creating is one of abundance and sustainability.
